Memorial Day weekend at Stinson Beach
This is the start of our second year running a vacation home in lovely Stinson Beach, California. It is truly a remarkable place and a very fine community.
Our guest book has had quite a bit of activity this past year, with mostly colorful comments made with colorful ink pens:

One day we took a ride to the Audubon Canyon Ranch, about two miles north of Stinson on Highway 1. Here's the Henderson Overlook:

On Memorial Day the beach becomes a huge container for people of all shapes and sizes. Everything from pink-loving girls to kite surfing senior citizens:

Before the Summer Season kicks fully into gear, I decided to stock the house with critical items such as toilet paper, etc. I tried to make a small statement about the self-reflexive nature of blogging by including my shoes in the picture. Hmmm...

On the way home I took the Highway 1 route along the ocean to return to the Bay Area, instead of climbing over Mt. Tam. I wanted to see the extent of the Winter storm damage and it still looks like the road crews have more work to do. As long as they get done by next Winter I guess we'll be OK. In any case, here's the only commercial eating establishment in Muir Beach, the Pelican Inn.
And here's the center of "town," a row of mailboxes:

Here's to a great second year to all of our actual (and virtual) guests.
Cheers,
Neill
