More Leatherback Turtle info
One of the most interesting things about creating a blog is seeing the ways in which people find it. Besides the obvious way of searching for a vacation rental in Stinson Beach, I've had plenty of folks click-thru because of their interest in leatherback turtles. With that in mind, here's an interesting video (from 2006) from the Southwest Fisheries Science Center, a division of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.
This past April 16-19 there was a Great Turtle Race. And locally, there's a number of researchers flying between between Point Sur and the Russian River looking for leatherback activity.

Finally, if you're lucky you might be able to arrange for a Sea Turtle Ambassador to visit your classroom.
